The Power Of Commitment & Pursuing Your Goals — Finding Your Why
Welcome to 2020! As you reflect on the events of the past 12 months, and your health choices moving forward, you might be musing over how to boost your motivation in order to achieve some new goals. At DTX Cellular Evolution, we’re the first to tell you that optimum health is the result of long-term lifestyle choices. We are *not* about fleeting dietary fads, or quick fix solutions to long-standing health problems. Deep healing, and real, lasting change come from a sustained commitment to your total well-being, year in and year out. Each time you make the choice to meditate, exercise, get that extra hour of sleep, or get your green juice in, you’re building the power of your commitment to pursue your goals and dreams.
Shoring up your ability to commit is like strengthening a muscle — the more you ‘lift’ against the resistance of the freeweight, your body weight, (or your craving for foods that leave you feeling sick and lousy) the more strength you gain over time. Since the temptation to ditch your goals is likely to strike at some point, it can be helpful to have a backup motivator in place to keep you on track when the path gets tough. Boosting your energy, clarifying your skin, and shedding extra pounds can be great things to aim for, but there’s a key to staying focused when you feel fatigued, frustrated, or overwhelmed: That key is your *why*.
The difference between long-haul commitment to a health program, and falling back on old habits, can be as simple as knowing why you’re making that commitment in the first place. Maybe you’re managing a serious illness, or stubborn, nagging symptoms that just aren’t healing. Maybe you’re searching for more peace and meaning in your life, or perhaps you’d just like more energy. These are all wonderful goals to shoot for, but ask yourself why they’re important to you in the first place. Do you want more energy so you can fit in more playtime with your children? Will an improvement in your health help you achieve some long-cherished dreams and goals? A sense of purpose — knowing why your goals matter to you — will help keep you focused when obstacles arise. The cleansing path isn’t without challenges, but by discovering why your health is important to you, and exactly why you want to be at your best, you’ll have the strength to stay focused in the face of any challenges that crop up along the way.
If you know that you want to lose some weight, boost your energy levels, or improve your digestion, get specific as to why these things are important to you. Jot it all down in a journal, and ask yourself why you want to be fully well: What will an improvement in your health make possible in your life? What will you be able to do that you can’t do now?
Know That You Might Want To Quit Sometimes
Eventually, cleansing choices and eating well become second nature. The good news is, the long-term detox path gets easier and easier with time. But at some point or other, feeling like you want to quit and fall back on old habits can happen — it pretty much happens to everyone, and especially in the beginning! Know that these feelings will pass, and by being mindful of the reasons why you want to take better care of yourself, you can help keep yourself focused and relaxed when the urge to ditch your detox hits. Sticking to your commitments, even when it’s hard, is a powerful way to reach your goals while building self-trust.
No Victory Is Too Small To Be Celebrated
One of the best things about the cleansing lifestyle is that, while you might be healing over time — especially if you have health challenges — the benefits can also be seen and felt surprisingly fast. Take the time to really enjoy this process! No pleasure or victory is too small. A new favorite recipe, brighter skin, deeper sleep, and the amazing lightness you feel after colon hydrotherapy, can all help keep you motivated to continue over the long haul. And the longer you stick with better health choices, the better and better you’ll feel, too. And that’s something you can feel amazing about, friends — well into 2020 and beyond.
