What Are The Benefits Of Infrared Saunas?

Few could argue that a good sauna session feels amazing. Saunas can help relieve sore muscles while boosting relaxation, well-being, and mental alertness. Here at DTX, we carefully chose the saunas that we feature in our practice, and we love the benefits that our full spectrum infrared saunas offer.
And while you’ve probably seen saunas before in health clubs and spas, there’s actually a difference between traditional and infrared saunas. Basically, traditional saunas use temperatures up to 195 degrees Fahrenheit, which can feel intense for people who are more sensitive to heat. Infrared saunas, on the other hand, use less heat — only between 120 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. So, not only are infrared saunas more tolerable heat-wise for some people, they also feature another important difference.
The infrared rays associated with this type of sauna penetrate the body at the cellular level. At DTX, we’ve selected Clearlight full-spectrum saunas for our clients, because they deliver near, mid, and far infrared rays, and penetrate deeply into the body’s tissues. As such, this is the gentlest, yet most powerful infrared sauna that we’ve found. Because these rays are able to travel so deeply into the body, they produce a deep sweat — but with much lower heat than traditional saunas use. Also, it’s important to note that, while infrared saunas actually emit the same rays that the sun does, no potentially harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays are ever used.
Additionally, some forms of traditional saunas use steam, which create a much more humid environment that infrared saunas do. With infrared saunas, no steam is used, and the heat emitted comes entirely from infrared rays.
So, why are saunas an important addition to your regular cleansing protocol? The heat from our Clearlight infrared saunas at DTX will raise your core temperature, which helps boost your metabolism so that you burn more calories. Also, sweating is one of the best and oldest ways known to naturally detoxify the body. As the heat from the infrared rays penetrates your skin, the body pushes cellular toxins up and out through open pores via sweating as it starts the cooling process. Regular sauna sessions can increase your immunity, facilitate cell turnover and regeneration, and rejuvenate the skin. Further, the mid infrared rays used in our saunas can aid in pain relief and improve circulation, while far infrared rays can help lower your blood pressure. Far infrared rays really deliver when it comes to cellular detoxification, too — these rays produce a deep sweat, and are able to help purge toxins at the cellular level.
Given that infrared saunas use less heat than traditional methods do, you can also stay in longer in order to give your body time to reap the full benefits of your sauna session. We recommend about 30 to 45 minutes per session, and then following up with a shower in our private facility.
So, when combined with regular vegetable juicing, food combining, a plant-based foods diet, and gravity-method colon hydrotherapy, infrared saunas are a powerful addition to your detox toolkit. A great detox program maximizes all the best tools possible, while keeping your healing protocol manageable, simple, and fun. By leveling up your game with infrared sauna sessions, you’ll be upping your immunity, boosting your metabolism, and assisting your body in achieving your deepest detox yet.
